A Second Revolution

I have never been interested in politics. I fact I have only voted once in the ten years that I've eligible to vote. I have never given any thought to how the country was run and what was going on. I was too busy being spoiled in the little bubble of thought-up reality that I call life. I studied and have been fascinated by military conflicts and wars, but never on why they happened. I majored in history, but never did I learn about the true history of this country. I learned what was taught to me by teachers and professors that read their material out of books written by those that had the authority to write them. I barely know the Constitution and I was never taught it in school, can you believe that, I majored in this countries history and was never once taught about the Constitution directly? What is wrong with that?! I am an American and I can't even tell you what it means to be an American! I claimed to be patriotic, and yet I didn't know what I believed in, or I thought I did, but that dream of what America is, is just that, a dream. It doesn't exist. The values and morals that I thought my grandfathers fought for, the freedoms that millions have died for are a farce. Don't get me wrong, that dream of what America is and what it means to be American did exist, but like the apostasy that took Christ's church from the earth, the country that was built by our forefathers is gone. It has been trampled under the feet of those that we the American people put into power. It has been sold to the highest bidder, used to get personal gain and prostituted to those that would take advantage of the masses. It has not happened all at once, but the powers that be have forged this destructive path for over a century. Everything that I have been taught about the good of government programs and patriotic leaders in the past has for the most part been lies. Lies that I didn't know were being crammed down my throat until just recently. But I have awakened to the awful situation that our country is drowning in. We have leaders that don't keep their promises to those that elect them, and worse yet, don't care that they lie to us. We have corruption and deceit in every level of the government. Those that know about it either don't care about it, are too afraid to do anything about it, or don't think that they can do anything about it. That in and of itself is a lie. We can do something about it, but it's not going to be easy, and that scares people. We have gotten to the top so fast and stayed for so long that we have become complacent. We don't want to do any work. We have enough to worry about with work, family, and which sports team is going to win the championship. We don't want to worry about whats going on with our country as long as it doesn't directly affect us. We have turned into frogs that have been placed in a pot of cool water only to have the temperature turned up. We are about at the boiling point and we don't even notice the difference. We think we are in a comfortable hot tub while those in charge of running the country are telling us that they are taking care of us and not to worry while they turn the heat up on the stove. Soon we will be dead in the water and wondering what the hell happened to us and this country. By then it will be too late. The country will be in shambles and the freedoms we took for granted are gone. We will be imprisoned by those that have slowly sucked the life out of the rights and privileges we have as Americans and as human beings. It is time to start a Second Revolution. Its time to stand up and get involved with what is going on around us before we can not stand up at all. We need to have those that we put into political office answer to us the citizens, not the foundations, corporations, and special interest groups that line their pockets with dirty money. We need to put this country back on track, the way that the founding fathers wanted it to be. We have the not only the privilege and opportunity to have a voice in politics, but we have the responsibility to get involved! We have to because that is what it means to be an American. We must clean-up Washington and start over because those in power are not working for their employers-the people-they are working for themselves and that is not only wrong and immoral, it is treacherous! We need to have that change that the Fuhrer (Obama) talks about. Only that change needs to be that the politicians listen to the people, and the people getting involved. It is our sacred duty given to us by God, at least that's what the founding fathers thought, and I believe that they were right.
People I want a response from this post. Let me know whether I'm crazy and a zealot, or whether you agree. I don't care which one as long as you respond because that means that you are thinking. Stop being sheep and start being shepards! PS sorry for grammatical errors, its late.

The Trip I Would Take If I Had No Moral Values...

Is this one http://www.shortnews.com/start.cfm?id=79310. A Russian company is offering people a chance to be pirates themselves off the coast of Somalia by hunting and killing real pirates. For $7000 a day you can sail on a yacht captained and run by ex-special forces soldiers to the Somalia coast in hopes of attracting Somali pirates to come attack your ship. Once they attack you can open up on them with machine guns, RPGs and an array of other weapons. This is real! I couldn't believe this, you can pay an extra $15 a day to arm yourself with an AK-47 assault rifle. Is this what the world has come to? Killing people for sport, granted those people you are killing are probably deserving it, but still! So if any of you sickos out there have thousands of dollars burning holes in your pockets and you want to fulfill your homicidal tendencies, here's the trip for you!

Defending Our Freedom In His Underwear!

I saw this on msn.com and was in awe! This is one of the coolest pictures that I have ever seen. This is an actual shot of US soldiers fighting off Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan. The article that accompanies this picture is at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30887233/?GT1=43001. That guy is a total stud! I would love to meet him and tell him thanks for his hard work. It doesn't look like hard work...I mean the guy is in pink boxers, but he is defending freedom, and that seems to be the hardest job in the world right now. This guy needs an award or something! He didn't even think to put on his pants before helping his fellow soldiers, or for that matter, shoes, he's wearing flip-flops. Give that soldier a medal for awesomeness! You know that just shows how amazing the military is in training and creating men that don't hesitate to do their jobs. There isn't, in my opinion, a better job in the world than being a soldier. As you can tell I am jealous. Well that's it, go to the link and read the article it will be worth it. Hey Freedoms Foundation, there a candidate for someone to honor at one of your banquets.

Alternate Realities

I have had a bunch of different things flowing through my mind like a great river cutting its way through a canyon. After last night I experienced something that has forced me to write, and when I say forced, I mean thoughts that have consumed my mind. The fire within my brain has made its way to my fingertips as I write. The event last night is one that most people would think is small and obscure, for for me, it was huge. Do any of you look forward to moments that can take you away from the chaos of life, with all of its worries, confusion, stress, as well as the mundane? I do, and those moments come for me in hour increments on Wednesday and Thursday nights. There are other times but these times are set in stone. The times that I am talking about is when I turn on the television and get lost in fictionalized worlds of "LOST" and Grey's Anatomy". That's right, I get comfort from the idiocy I call life, from TV shows. This last week was the season finales of both "LOST" and "Grey's". Now although "LOST" has actually lost some of its luster, I still think that it is the greatest show on TV. It is followed closely by "Grey's Anatomy". The "LOST" finale was great, but I want to put in my two cents about "Grey's" unbelievable finale! That is why people watch TV. The episode was perfect in every way. It had everything that is needed for a good show. What is needed for great shows, is that the audience, sitting in front of their TVs "wasting" time staring at the screen, are totally engrossed by what is transpiring before them. So with that said, I believe that it is totally healthy to get a dose of TV, movies, music, and books in every week. This way you can lose yourself in something other than the reality. Let's face it, during this time of economic catastrophe, and just plain s#!* going on in our lives, a little alternate reality is good for the soul, or whatever. I must add a caution in here though, that spending too much time in your own alternate reality, can be damaging and lead to being worthless like Perez Hilton who's only job in life is to talk about famous people that are famous for nothing and demeaning the good in the world for ratings and money. Okay with that said, I have said my peace and its no longer grindin my gears.

I See You Like to Chew, Maybe You Should Chew...ON MY FIST!!!

Yeah that's a quote from my son's new favorite movie, "KungFu Panda". The message in the movie is that you have to believe that you are great, and then you can do great things. I want to bring up a different point in the movie, that being that when the Panda was being trained he was beaten and kicked around unmercifully he didn't mind because it took his mind off of how he felt about himself. That got me thinking. Do you ever think what life would be like if you were something or someone different. I do...every night just about, and it either motivates me to be better for five minutes, or it reminds me of where I am in life. I sometimes lay awake and think about how life would be if I had tons of money. It would be about the same with less stress and maybe a car that I actually owned instead of borrowing from others. I wouldn't have to rely on others. I think about what life would be like if I had a different personality, if I would have the drive and focus to do other things. I think about what life would be like if I had a different profession. Interesting enough, I always have my wife and kid in the picture, that fact never changes. So I guess my subconscious is telling me that I got one thing perfectly right. Alright so that's what grinding my gears at the moment.

Killing Pablo

Since I started working at the place I'm at, I've had the freedom to go to Barnes and Noble on my lunch breaks and read a book. I've read about ten over the past six months. The book that I am reading right now is entitled "Killing Pablo" by Mark Bowmen. I had read "Black Hawk Down" by him and thought that because "Black Hawk Down" was a great book (not to mention movie), that I would try "Killing Pablo." I had heard the name Pablo Escobar, but I didn't know who he was. From the picture on the cover of the book of US military men surrounding a dead body, I knew that it was somehow about the death of Pablo. So here is the reason for this post. I have learned that Pablo Escobar was on Fortune's list of richest men in 1982. He was the seventh richest man in the world at a net worth (of what they knew) of over $5 billion. That's right $5 BILLION! And that was in the 80's! Even more interesting is the way he earned his money, cocaine. He was the largest drug dealer the world has ever known. So as I sit at my job that pays nothing because the economy sucks and nobody will buy anything, I can't help but wonder, maybe I should become a drug dealer. Just kidding, but what the heck! So because my wife and the police won't let me sell drugs I am thinking that now might be the right time to go back to school and receive my teaching certificate. That way I can do the next best thing to becoming a billionaire following in the footsteps of Pablo Escobar, that is becoming a poorly paid husband and father doing a job that I know that I will love. Nothing is in concrete yet, but I think that's the way I seem to be going. The really ironic thing is that I hated school and everything about, I just love to teach and teach history. Weird huh?

What Up!

Hey peoples! I have decided after years of itching to write anything and everything in my head every so often that I would start a blog. My wife Lauren has her own blog and when I got the urge to blog, she would always complain and try to censure what I wrote, and now she doesn't have to because this is MY own blog. So just to let those of you out there that actually read, or will read this blog, there will be a purpose to this blog...Are you ready for what the purpose is?...Well, just keep waiting because there is no rhyme or reason to this blog. I will talk about whatever is on my mind at the time. And please feel free to comment on whatever you want to read about from me. Ok, so now that I got that out of way, here we go.

Is it me or does Barak Obama love to hear himself speak and be on TV. I think that the press conference that he held yesterday was pointless to televise during primetime television. That whole thing could have and in my opinion, should have been broadcast on C-SPAN. He didn't say anything different than he has in the past. Now I don't really like Obama, and not for really the politcal reasons, its because he is a celebrity and not the President of the United States. Come on, going on Jay Leno does what for the economy? There is a reason why no other president has ever done it, because they were busy doing their jobs! So come on Barak, quit worrying about how good you look on camera and start worrying about doing what the American people put you in place to do. I have to add at the end of this that I don't know a whole lot about politics nor did I vote in this last election (Mainly because I didn't like either canidate), so I really should not have an opinion of Obama, but I do so deal with it. Today, that is what really grinds my gears!
